Topic

VYou (Virtual You) started as a simple Q/A (Question and Answer) approach to social media. However, in its recent foray into the mobile app market they seek to claim their place among contemporary social media giants, such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc,.

Description

VYou offers people the opportunity to broadcast videos on the web as conversations from any question a person might ask.
How it works is that a person - whether it is a fan or follower - posts a message and you record a video that responds to that message. VYou then organizes their messages and your video into conversations making the experience feel more real than just posting questions and answers on a message board.

Their new mobile app added functionality akin to Facebook in that users can now leave "status" messages to keep their fans updated during those lulls between videos responses. While this may seem like a simple addition at first, certain competitors in the market, such as foursquare, don't even offer status posts. It does however add a level of constant presence that is seen in the three biggest names in social media, Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.

Despite poor initial reviews Vyou still has adequate time to communicate with its user base and make pertinent changes to their services. Even if you aren't the type to step over the bleeding edge of social media, it couldn't hurt to check it out. You'd be surprised who you could end up talking to.

Applications

A user can connect their account to multiple forms of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ while also connecting your account to blogging sites such as Tumblr.

VYou is also available for Android through Google Play.
