Boxee is a free software that allows users to access to access movies, TV shows, music, and more from their computers and stream to their TV. To do this, you can either buy a Boxee device or you can build your own. The framework for Boxee is based on source code from the Xbox Media Center project, which was created for the first-generation Xbox. Since Boxee is considered partially open-source, individuals can create their own apps, skins, and plug-ins. Users can share their favorite media through social-networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. This software is currently available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Apple TV.
