external image icon-unreal.pngUDK is a professional level development environment that is powered by Unreal Engine 3. It can be used to create games, Virtual environments as well as three dimensional visualizations. It has the flexibility to run on multiple platforms such as PC's, the new PSP2 (NGP), devices running iOS, and Android OS devices will be supported in the future.

Who is it for? Anyone. Everyone. You. Unreal Engine 3 has been used by game developers, researchers, television studios, machinima directors, artists and students. If you have an idea that needs to be brought to life in a game engine, UDK is for you.

Why UDK? Only UDK has the power, flexibility and track record of Unreal Engine 3. These tools have been proven with countless releases and dozens of awards. There is no better way to make awesome games on the PC and iOS than with UE3.

There are many applications for Unreal Development Kit including games, driving simulators, and producing animated films. With UDK one can make applications for a variety of platforms and devices. iOS apps can already be made using this tool and soon Android will be added to the list making products of UDK fully mobile.

Completely Integrated Editing Environment
- Unreal Development Kit provides a full-fledged Unreal Engine 3 experience with the Unreal Editor (UnrealEd) which provides all of the key tools of the engine. The Unreal Content Browser allows you to manage your assets like meshes, textures, sounds, and animations easier than ever before.

Multi-Threaded Rendering Power
- UDK's rendering system, Gemini, provides a 64-bit HDR rendering pipeline. The raw rendering power behind it can allow for creations that have never been done before.

Powerful Scripting
- UnrealScript is a powerful high-level programming language that allows you to build prototypes and add in new game play elements quickly and efficiently. Unreal Kismet allows you to intuitively connect scripts visually so people with no programming knowledge can effectively edit as well.

Realistic Physics
- UDK's physics engine is powered by the proprietary PhsyX engine from nVidia. This allows for unparalleled control over character movement, dynamic fluid simulation, and organic body physics.

Enhanced Audio
- UDK supports many of the major compressed sound formats. It also has support for 3D sound positioning as well as multichannel sound. All these audio features allow for the ability to develop games that truly immerse the player.

Particle Effects System
- Through the use of Unreal Cascade visual effects such as ,explosions, fire, fog, and smoke can be implemented . Real time previews of effects are provided via a module based system.

::For Mobile Apps::

Next-Gen Mobile Graphics
- UDK has a highly optimized mobile renderer that supports unheralded quality ever seen on a mobile platform.

UDK Remote
- The UDK Remote is a free download from the App Store which allows you to use your iOS device in real time and immediately see the input on your device affect your application currently running on your PC.

One-Click Deployment
- You can easily deploy your application to your iOS device in one simple click. There is a packaging assistant that allows you to easily configure the deployment.

Mobile Previewer
- A full OpenGL ES 2.0 renderer is implemented on your PC to allow to preview your content as if it were running on an iOS device. This allows you to test your application without actually having to copy it to the device.
